About
In 2010, five healthcare systems, Geisinger Health System, Intermountain Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente, Mayo Clinic and Mercy – formed an action-oriented collaboration called the Healthcare Transformation Group (HTG) to share best practices and drive needed positive change across the healthcare supply chain.
One of the main initiatives being addressed by the HTG is the implementation of GS1 Standards. This includes Global Location Numbers (GLNs), the 13-digit number used to identify any legal entity/trading partner, and Global Trade Item Numbers(GTINs), the GS1 System Identification Number that uniquely identifies trade items at all levels of packaging.
HTG members share this common foundation:
HTG has established working relationships with GS1 Healthcare US, academic institutions, governmental agencies, vendors/suppliers and research institutions – to continue to advocate for and advance the adoption of standards in healthcare.
As we work together to transform supply chains within the healthcare industry, we encourage you to reach out to us with questions or for help in understanding our goals and the steps we are taking to achieve it.
